Through our in-home grooming service, we strive to make the grooming experience as stress-free as possible for your dog. Senior dogs in particular can lose stamina and feel anxious as they age, so we take care to watch their breathing and condition, maintaining a calm and reassuring distance throughout. We work gently at a pace that lets your dog relax alongside their family, right in their familiar surroundings.

About Marina

Hi, I’m Mai Hashimoto, the owner of Mobile Dog Grooming Marina. With over 10 years of experience at a professional grooming salon in Okamoto, Kobe — including 5 years as manager — I am dedicated to providing gentle, stress-free grooming for dogs of all ages.

My inspiration for starting this mobile service came from welcoming a rescued senior dog named Kinoko into our family in 2023. I wanted her — and every dog like her — to feel safe, loved, and comfortable during grooming, without the stress of traveling to a salon. “Marina” means “comfortable” in Hawaiian, which perfectly reflects the feeling I hope every dog experiences.

We provide personalised grooming tailored to each dog’s personality and condition. Because we come to your home, timid dogs and senior dogs can feel at ease. We remain attentive to your dog’s mood and health throughout, and can combine grooming with pet-sitting if needed.

Shampoo & Blow-dry Course Includes:

Nail trimming, ear cleaning, anal gland expression, paw/belly/bottom clipper trim, eye area trim, and ceramide moisturising treatment.

Pet Sitting

Available in combination with grooming, or as a standalone service (additional travel fee applies).

60 min: ¥4,400 — Food top-up, water, litter/cage cleaning, ~10 min walk
120 min: ¥6,600 — As above + 20–30 min walk, brushing
180 min: ¥8,800 — Multiple pets, as above + light tidying
Extension (30 min): +¥1,100

How It Works

Setup — We borrow about 1 tatami mat of space and bring all necessary tools and a grooming table.
Consultation — We discuss your dog’s health, personality, and preferred style. We then check their condition, clip paw fur, trim nails, brush, and prepare for the bath.
Shampoo & Blow-dry — We use your bath or sink.
Cut — Full-body cut for Cut Course; tidy-up trim for Shampoo Course (partial cut available as an option).
Finish & Clean-up — We vacuum and tidy the area we used.

FAQ

What should I prepare?

Please have 1–2 towels ready for drying after the bath, and allow us to use your vacuum for clean-up. On the first visit, please have proof of rabies and combination vaccine (within 1 year). For senior or unwell dogs, please wear clothes that can get dirty as you may be asked to help support your pet.

Can dogs with health conditions be groomed?

Yes — there is no age limit. Dogs with health conditions are welcome as long as there is no doctor’s prohibition. Please book during your vet’s opening hours just in case. We will always prioritise your dog’s safety and comfort during the session.

Is there a cancellation fee?

No cancellation fee. Many of our clients have senior or unwell dogs, so we understand that cancellations happen. However, if non-health-related cancellations become frequent, we may need to decline future bookings.

How long does grooming take?

It depends on breed, size, coat, and condition — but as a rough guide: Small breed Shampoo Course: 1–2 hours / Small breed Cut Course: 2–4 hours (including setup and clean-up). Please enquire for medium and large breeds.
